Cindy Ivanhoe, M.D. serves as Chief Medical
Officer for Mentis Neuro Rehabilitation. In
addition to creating and overseeing the program
model for Mentis, Dr. Ivanhoe was Director
of the Brain Injury and Stroke Program at the
Institute for Rehabilitation and Research
(TIRR) from 1996 to 2006. She has been
board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation since completing her post-doctorate brain injury rehabilitation fellowship through Baylor College of Medicine at TIRR in 1993.
Dr. Ivanhoe serves as Associate Professor for Baylor College of Medicine University of Texas Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Alliance and is a multiple recipient of their R. Edward Carter, Jr., M.D. Clinical Achievement Award for Continuing Contributions and Accomplishments. She was also presented with the Professional Contribution Award by the Brain Injury Association of Texas in 2000 and was the youngest recipient of their Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002. She has trained medical students, residents and fellows in brain injury from the US and abroad.
As a member of the Easter Seals Spasticity Management and Movement Disorder Advisory Board since 2001, Dr. Ivanhoe been recognized as an international expert and speaker on spasticity management and hypertonia. She continues to apply her knowledge in treating patients with brain injuries across the continuum of care, from the acute setting, inpatient rehabilitation and into the community.
