Jerome Mee

Jerome Mee brings over 20 years of healthcare executive experience, spanning both large and small organizations. After attending Kent State University, He began his career as a certified actuary for the health insurance industry. His executive experience began with Columbia/HCA, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer for a 150-bed, community-based general acute care hospital. He moved on to become the CEO with River Oaks Imaging and Diagnostic, Houston’s largest provider of outpatient imaging services. He was additionally the Executive VP of Foundation Surgical Affiliates (FSA), where he formed Foundational Surgical Hospital and oversaw operations for sixteen Ambulatory Surgery Centers, two Diagnostic Imaging Centers and the Physicians Surgical Hospital at Quail Creek. He is a Diplomat with the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the board of directors for the Texas Ambulatory Surgery Center Society.

 

 

Michael Clark

Mike Clark is the Chief Financial officer responsible for all finance, accounting, and many operational functions.  Mike has broad leadership experience with companies in technology and healthcare, ranging from Fortune 100 to early-stage ventures.  He has led across many functional areas including finance, technology, operations, and customer care.  His strengths lie in developing high-performing teams and driving operational excellence throughout all areas of an organization.  Mike holds an MBA from the Baylor Hankamer School of business, a Masters in Computer Information System from the University of Phoenix, and a BBA from Georgia State University.

 

 

Barbara North

Barbara North is the Chief Organizational Development and Communications Officer. Her role at Mentis is to advance the Company’s ability to meet its strategic growth initiatives through organizational communication, Agile Management, learning innovation, and content marketing focused on connecting our team members, patients, their family members and our healthcare partners to Mentis’ mission of Advancing Care Together. Barbara joined Mentis with over 20 years of experience guiding organizations to improve efficiency, quality and scalability by leveraging technology, building adaptable organizations and driving communication campaigns.

Morgan Porter

Morgan Porter is the Chief Technology and Compliance Officer at Mentis. His primary role is to advance the Company’s strength in clinical innovation through digital transformation. He also serves as the company’s compliance officer where he focuses on continuous quality improvement. Morgan joined Mentis with more than 20 years of experience guiding healthcare organizations to improve efficiency, quality and scalability by adopting next generation mobile, cloud and analytics technology.

Susan Braziel

Susan Braziel, RN, is the Vice President of Admissions for Mentis Neuro Health. Susan provides leadership for Mentis’ centralized patient access processes and consultative oversight to our facility-based case management services.  She has more than 30 years of experience in healthcare management with expertise in behavioral health and medical rehabilitation. Susan was the Mentis Houston Administrator for over 10 years prior to assuming her current role as Vice President.

Eric Makowski

Eric has been working for people with various disabilities in community re-entry settings for 30 years, first as direct care personnel and later in administrative positions. He has extensive experience in operations and personnel management. Eric has also advocated successfully in the state Legislature for appropriations and policy affecting people with brain injury, most notably in the passage of the mandated coverage in Texas. He enjoys applying his experience to new business development initiatives for Mentis.

Pat O’Reilly

Pat O’Reilly has worked in healthcare marketing and development for over 26 years.  He began his career developing strategic relationships between his clients consisting of rehabilitation physicians, physical therapy and work hardening facilities in 1991.  His entry into the brain injury rehabilitation industry began in 2002 where he managed a multi-state postacute brain injury marketing team for a large brain injury rehabilitation facility in Texas.  Mr. O’Reilly and his marketing team contributed to substantial growth in their Texas facility.   In 2007, Mr. O’Reilly joined the Mentis Neuro Health team and currently serves as Vice President of Development.  In this capacity, he identifies the need and potential for postacute facilities and competitive acquisition targets in markets around the United States. He is a graduate of Baylor University with a Business degree in Marketing and Management.

Cathrine Stewart

Ms. Stewart comes to Mentis Neuro Rehabilitation with over 25 years health care management experience in marketing and managed care, seventeen of which have been specifically within the Post Acute Brain Injury arena. She has a strong background in census development, contract acquisition, new product development, strategic planning, physician recruitment and practice growth.

During her career, Ms. Stewart has held Director of Managed Care & Business Development positions with Tenet Health System, Healthcare America, Inpatient Consultants of Texas and Universal Health Services.

As Regional Director of Behavioral Health Contracting at Tenet Houston, she was responsible for meeting all corporate contracting benchmarks in rate negotiation and language review. She oversaw transition of traditional Medicaid/Medicare contracts to privatized managed care products, and was responsible for increasing physician recruitment, network inclusion and number of capitated lives for Tenet Houston’s Independent Physician Association, Advanced Care IPA.

In her role as Director of Business Development at Healthcare America, IPC and Universal Health Services, Ms. Stewart directed the sales team in census development efforts, oversaw contract and PPO expansion, increased physician practice growth through targeted consumer marketing efforts, directed networking strategies with key referral sources, implemented referral tracking systems and successfully marketed one of the first Hospitalist companies in the Houston Market to area health plans, hospitals, IPAs, primary care and specialty physicians.

As VP of Corporate Marketing and Network Development for Mentis Neuro Rehabilitation, Ms. Stewart is responsible for managed care contracting, implementation of payor specific marketing initiatives, ensuring contract compliance, facility census development support, and launched and managed the Company’s Life Long Living Program.
